Direct Support Professional - Granada Hills

Company Overview

We are a diverse, mission-driven human services organization dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) in Granada Hills and surrounding communities. Our team is passionate about helping each person live a fuller, more independent, and more connected life.

Working in an energetic, team-oriented environment, our staff collaborate closely to provide person-centered support, build real-life skills, and create meaningful opportunities for community inclusion.

The Opportunity

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will do work that matters every single day. You will mentor, teach, guide, and advocate for adults with I/DD, helping them build confidence, access their community, and achieve personal goals.

This is an excellent opportunity if you are compassionate, outgoing, and looking for a role where you can grow your skills in human services while having a direct, positive impact on people's lives. With flexible shifts, training, and supportive leadership, this position can be a strong step toward a long-term career in social services, education, or healthcare.

What You'll Do

  • Encourage and model positive peer interactions, helping clients build and maintain healthy relationships.
  • Follow individual support plans, communicate observations to the team, and collaborate with supervisors and coworkers to ensure consistent, high-quality support.
What Success Looks Like
  • Within the first few months, you build trusting, respectful relationships with the individuals you support and learn their routines, preferences, and goals.
  • Individuals you work with are more engaged in community and recreational activities and demonstrate progress in independence or social skills.
  • Documentation, communication with the team, and follow-through on support plans are accurate, timely, and consistent.
  • You are a reliable, positive presence on the team, demonstrating good judgment in day-to-day decisions and responding calmly and effectively to challenges.
What We're Looking For
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to stay calm and think clearly in changing situations.
  • Clear, respectful communication and a collaborative approach to working with clients, families, and team members.
  • A genuine passion for helping others, with the willingness to learn, take feedback, and grow within the role.
  • At least 21 years of age, with reliable transportation, a valid CA Driver's License, and the ability to pass a background check; prior human services experience and/or American Sign Language skills are a plus.
Benefits
  • Benefits for full-time positions, including health insurance, flexible schedules, and opportunities for training and development
  • Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
  • Day shifts with rotating weekends; in-person role with 4-hour and 8-hour shifts available
