Position Overview
Position Overview
The Summer STEM Internship provides high school graduates or students with 1-2 years of college with hands-on exposure to engineering and computer science careers within a manufacturing environment. Interns will work alongside other interns, existing engineers, and technical professionals to complete real-world projects while further developing foundational STEM, problem-solving, and professional skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with other interns to complete assigned projects.
• Support engineering and/or computer science professionals on real-world projects and initiatives.
• Assist with data collection, analysis, and basic reporting related to manufacturing, systems, or process improvements.
• Use computer-based tools, software, or programming concepts to support engineering, automation, or technology-related tasks.
• Learn how to safely use and apply tools and equipment within the MakerSpace.
• Participate in problem-solving activities related to efficiency, quality, safety, or process optimization.
• Participate in job shadowing, hands-on activities, and structured learning experiences.
• Follow all safety, housekeeping, and plant guidelines. Help maintain and organize the MakerSpace.
• Document work completed and communicate progress or challenges to supervisors or mentors.
Qualifications
• High school graduates or college students with less than 2 years of college.
• Completed or currently enrolled in coursework or a technical pathway related to Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Robotics, or STEM.
• Demonstrated interest in pursuing a post-secondary degree or career in engineering, computer science, or a related STEM field.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications; familiarity with coding, CAD, data analysis, or technical software is a plus.
• Former member of a FIRST® Robotics team preferred but not required.
• Strong curiosity, willingness to learn, and ability to work in a team environment.
• Good organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely in an industrial or technical setting.
• Must be at least 17 years old and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Schedule
• Summer internship (Up to 12 weeks)
• 25-40 hours per week
• First shift
