Overview
CTG is seeking a Server Test Technician to support server and mainframe testing operations within a fast-paced computer manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for candidates with strong hardware troubleshooting skills, basic networking knowledge, and the ability to work hands-on with server systems and components.
Location: Poughkeepsie, NY (Onsite)
Duration: Long-term contract
Shift: Second Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM, weekend overtime may be required based on workload demands
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting on server and mainframe systems
- Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation
- Configure and validate networking settings including DHCP, server addressing, and routing
- Identify and resolve hardware and system failures during manufacturing and testing processes
- Document test results, issues, and corrective actions accurately
- Collaborate with technical and manufacturing teams to meet production and quality goals
- Support overtime and weekend coverage as needed based on workload demands
Required Skills:
- Ability to read and follow wiring diagrams and schematics
- Basic understanding of networking principles and server connectivity
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Experience working in a computer manufacturing or technical testing environment preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, high-volume production setting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical training in computer hardware, electronics, or networking preferred
- Prior experience in computer hardware testing or manufacturing strongly preferred
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
