Position Overview
Primary Purpose of Position
The Department of Applied Engineering Technology (AET) at A&T State University in the College of Science and Technologyinvites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the field of computer graphics technology, starting in August 2026. The appointment is expected to be at the assistant professor level. An appointment at a higher rank might be considered for exceptionally qualified applicants. In particular the Department is seeking qualified candidates who can develop a collaborative and innovative research program in the field of computer graphics in user experience and/or optimal customer experience for commerce.
The hired faculty is expected to show commitment to teaching excellence. She/he is expected to teach Computer Graphics and other Applied Engineering Technology courses at the under-graduate and graduate levels, develop courses and curricula, direct students in research, and provide service to the University and community.
The ideal candidate will develop and maintain a vigorous research program in the field of computer graphics, secure extramural funding, and direct the research activities of PhD and MS students in related areas. Mentoring undergraduate students is also expected. A candidate whose teaching and research efforts promote the mission of the Applied Engineering Technology Department and the strategic vision of the College of Science and Technology (COST) as well as the University is highly desired. Collaboration with colleagues from the sciences, mathematics, and technology areas is encouraged.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is an 1890 land-grant doctoral Research University dedicated to learning, discovery, and community engagement. The Department of Applied Engineering Technology serves ~400 students in the following degree programs: BS in Applied Engineering Technology, BS in Automotive Engineering Technology, BS in Computer Graphics Technology, MS in Technology Management, and PhD in Applied Science and Technology - Technology Management concentration. Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have a terminal degree in user experience, interactive web design, interactive media, or a closely related design technology field.

Highly preferred candidates will have industry experience in user experience development, teaching experience in an accredited program, and a sustained research record.
