Job description

Registered Nurse - Mother Baby Unit

Location Overland Park, KS

Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule 7A - 7P Shift

Job Description The Registered Nurse in the Mother Baby unit is responsible for caring for women of childbearing age and their newborns. This role requires the ability to recognize unit workflow, processes, policies, and procedures within the postpartum unit.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and identify risk factors related to sepsis, venous thromboembolism/deep vein thrombosis (VTE/DVT), and pressure injuries.
  • Provide discharge education and assessment for patients.
  • Manage and prioritize patient care needs based on acuity and individual patient needs.
  • Utilize AIDET and BSSR in patient interactions.
  • Perform circumcisions as part of the unit's procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
  • Certification in BLS and NRP required.
