Job description

The Mobile Simulation Laboratory Simulation Educator is a full-time, faculty-qualified position responsible for the academic leadership, delivery, and evaluation of simulation-based learning experiences utilizing the University's Mobile Simulation Laboratory. This role is distinct from the Mobile Simulation Laboratory simulation operator position and carries faculty-level responsibility for student evaluation, competency verification, and documentation of learning outcomes. The Simulation Educator collaborates with campus faculty and academic leadership to ensure simulation activities are aligned with course objectives, program outcomes, and accreditation requirements, while also supporting grant implementation, reporting, and community engagement initiatives. Work schedules may vary and include day, evening, or occasional weekend activities to support campus simulation schedules, community events, or grant-related initiatives.


Keiser Mobile Simulation Laboratory Simulation Educators are responsible for leveraging their expertise and assisting nursing campus faculty in the delivery of education services to nursing students through:

  • Mobile simulation laboratory compliance with OSHA standards
  • Mobile simulation bus and equipment maintenance
  • Mobile simulation laboratory scheduling
  • Training simulation users in simulation activities, operation of patient simulators, AV equipment, and their maintenance
  • Assist with grant-related activities including implementation, data collection, reporting, and compliance
  • Participating in community outreach, workforce partnerships, and educational events utilizing the Mobile Simulation Laboratory

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Requires the ability, competence and confidence to drive the Keiser Mobile Simulation Bus as part of routine job duties.
  • Maintains a clean and mechanically-sound vehicle.
  • Obey all traffic laws and maintain vehicle safety.
  • Maintains mileage, maintenance, and travel logs and prepares reports.
  • Maintains inventory of simulation laboratory supplies. Restocks and orders supplies as needed.
  • Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of simulation laboratory equipment.
  • Maintains compliance with hazardous waste stocking and removal.
  • Design, facilitate, and evaluate high-quality simulation experiences aligned with nursing course objectives and program outcomes
  • Conduct formative and summative evaluation of student performance within simulation activities
  • Verify and document student clinical competencies achieved through simulation-based learning
  • Provide structured debriefing and feedback to support student learning, remediation, and progression
  • Collaborate with Nursing Program Directors, faculty, and simulation personnel to ensure consistency and quality of simulation experiences across campuses
  • Support academic integration of simulation within curricula in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards
  • Serve as a faculty resource for simulation pedagogy, assessment strategies, and best practices
  • Participating in Simulation Committee meetings, faculty meetings, University in-services, and professional development activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
  • Provides tours of the simulation space to prospective students and distinguished visitors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a valid Class E drivers' license
  • Nursing Simulation Certification, preferred
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
  • Current, unencumbered State of Florida RN or APRN license
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in nursing education and/or simulation-based education
  • Demonstrated experience with high-fidelity simulation facilitation and debriefing
  • Ability to evaluate student performance and verify clinical competencies
  • Experience with grant implementation, reporting, or funded academic initiatives
  • Experience with community engagement or workforce partnership activities
