Job description

**Job Title: Senior Structural / Civil EngineerLocation: 4 Irving Place, New York, NY 10003Schedule: HybridTravel: Locally via UbersHours: 8hr. 30min. Pay rate: $65/hrType of hire: 1 year contract to start, potential for conversion based on performance.

**Responsibilities/Job Description:

**

Candidates will be required to engineer and design projects to primarily support the Capital and Operations & Maintenance budgets of Facilities which includes the buildings and yards of various Service Centers and Commercial Buildings. Responsibilities: Candidates will prepare and/or direct the preparation of design packages (specifications/drawings) and the review contractor shop drawings; perform cost benefit analysis/conduct conceptual studies to determine best designs; prepare or direct the preparation of budgets and appropriation requests for specific projects. The candidate will be involved with facility project design, operational & maintenance support, root cause investigation of incidents, system inspections

**What are the MUST HAVE Skills:

**

  • The candidates must have a proven record of civil/structural engineering accomplishments, with a strong technical knowledge in the design of all types of steel, concrete and masonry structures

  • Civil/Structural degree - Masters preferred, but comfortable with bachelor’s if they have the experience

  • - Civil - drainage based

    • Structural - Steel, superstructure, makes the building

    • The preference is to have both experiences

  • Knowledge of all applicable codes such as AISC, ACI, ASCE, NYC Building Code, etc

  • The candidate must be capable of working directly with both in-house designers and out-of-house consulting engineers and have a proven record in providing civil/structural engineering support for various types of commercial building/yard systems.
