Job description

The purpose of the chef position is to promote Ben E. Keith products by advising restaurant owners regarding the preparation and presentation of menu items. This position requires the ability to communicate clearly with restaurant owners and kitchen personnel. Job Qualifications

• 8-10 years of experience in the restaurant industry with a minimum of 3 years as head chef at a full-service restaurant. • Preferred 5 years of experience as head Chef or Executive Chef. • Good computer skills, with ability to use standard Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel • Ability to prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and food preparation check list. • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with others • Must be able to work on their feet for long periods of time • Must be able to reach overhead, bend at the knees, twist at the waist, pull and stoop • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment under stressful conditions • Must have a well-developed senses of taste and smell and the ability to recognize subtle nuances in flavor • Ability to manage workers, delegate responsibility and work closely with others • Degree in culinary, restaurant management or business, preferred.
