Overview

Compensation: $81,000 - $135,000 (plus bonus) based on experience and credentials Location Type: Flexible hybrid with frequent travel Position Type: Full Time

Region: Volusia, Brevard, Orange Counties

The Business Relationship Manager is a motivated professional who leads aggressive business development efforts to maintain a strong loan pipeline. This individual is an active participant throughout the community helping to improve the financial lives of current and potential Suncoast Credit Union members. An ideal candidate is a flexible individual with the ability to apply analytical thinking to solve problems and build relationships with businesses.

Responsibilities
  • Cultivate supportive relationships with Suncoast Credit Union staff to assimilate business products with other core credit union products
  • Manage relationships with business owners to build accounts for their businesses and their employees
  • Provide exceptional personalized service to business owners and their employees
  • Promote credit union services to attain sales goals set by management for specific products
  • Network with current and potential business select partners to increase the account-per-member ratio
  • Cultivate relationships with professionals in the financial industry to maintain a high-quality, competitive Member Business Services program
  • Develop and implement marketing plans to foster product awareness
  • Maintain minimum levels of accounts per member and seek opportunities to grow the business
  • Manage existing commercial business portfolio including annual reviews, renewals, and line of credit term outs
  • Act as the liaison between business units throughout the credit union, such as Suncoast Trust and Investments, service centers, and credit union subsidiaries to increase profitable business
  • Collaborate with business unit leaders to ensure "All Team" communication with the coordination of objectives to meet results
  • Participate in community events and committees to enhance Suncoast's brand and visibility
  • Maintain compliance with loan policy, procedures, and documentation including loan package preparation, loan structure, and underwriting
  • Develop loan production through business development, networking, and relationship management
  • Evaluate loan requests by assessing the organization's financial condition, projections, site analysis, building plans, operating plans, potential risks, and other relevant data to support a recommendation or decline
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting the area of expertise
  • Attend educational events to increase professional knowledge
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, finance, or a related field (A comparable combination of work experience and training may be substituted for education requirements.)
  • 5+ years of sales and/or business development experience
  • Ability to generate leads and build a book of business with a pipeline for future opportunities
  • Knowledge of personal and business financial statements with the ability to analyze the creditworthiness of members and businesses
  • General knowledge of Small Business Administration loans, including origination, processing, and servicing
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities to meet deadlines
  • Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized with task management
  • Ability to resolve difficult and complex problems 
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of credit union products, services, policies, and procedures pertinent to the job
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators
  • Ability to influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures
