Job description

At the present time a vacancy for a Construction Trades Instructor exists within the Division of Career, Technical and Customized Education at the Oxford Area High School.

Qualifications:

  • Appropriate PA Department of Education Vocational certification or the ability to enroll in an approved certification program with appropriate certifications or have successfully completed the appropriate Occupational Competency Assessment. In addition to the minimum certification requirements, candidates should possess relevant industry certifications.
  • In addition to the minimum PDE certification requirements; candidates should possess relevant industry certifications.
  • Current police, child abuse and FBI Fingerprint clearances required.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality occupational instruction to secondary career and technical students to prepare them for a successful career path in the construction trades.  This instructional program prepares individuals to apply knowledge and skills in a variety of areas associated with building construction such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, heating and electrical. Instruction includes but is not limited to blueprint reading; cost estimating; uses of hand and power tools; cutting, fitting, fastening and finishing various materials; and applying technical specifications and knowledge concerning the physical properties of materials.
     

Duties Include:

  • Program development
  • Maintain and practice an effective safety program with the curriculum
  • Consistent and effective program recruitment
  • Effective supervision of all students at TCHS-Brandywine
  • Maintain and modify curriculum to remain current
  • Develop and maintain a productive Occupational Advisory Committee
  • Maintain appropriate professional certificate(s) and licenses as required
  • Maintenance of appropriate industrial certifications on a regular basis
  • Develop and maintain a positive production account
  • Other assignments requested by the principal or designee 


Salary Range: (2025-2026 salary schedule):

$59,796 to $87,342 - Emergency/Intern Certification (coming in with industry experience)
$62,155 to $89,730 - Vocational I Teaching Certification
$64,834 to $93,324 - Vocational II Teaching Certification
$69,353 to $101,911 - Master's Degree
$72,740 to $105,924 - Master's +15
$74,415 to $107,845 - Master's + 30
 





Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday; 7.5 hrs per day
