Job description

Description
Support of daily operations and overall engineering for transit systems projects, work directly with Systems Engineers and be a part of an integrated team on assigned Engineering tasks. This internship will be focused on systems integration and design tasks. This includes review of cross-disciplinary requirements between railroad signals equipment, communications designs, and software SCADA systems. Tasks may include circuit analysis, dynamic train calculations, configuration and requirements management review, or test document preparation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Soldering & Wiring
  • Integrated Circuit testing, Circuit Analysis
  • Matlab Processing of Electrical Signal Data
  • Perform calculations using train braking algorithms
  • Verify frequency compatibility for product selection
  • Perform power calculations for equipment loads
  • Verify test documentation against system requirements
  • Electrical equipment product selection review against specifications
  • Build project layouts using Visio
  • Creating test forms and developing technical documentation
  • Prepare Test Program Trackers and testbooks in excel
  • Cloud application workflow integration (Box, Smartsheet)
  • Multi-tasks and stay focused on the big picture while addressing daily issues


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Pursuit of Bachelors of Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology Degree or equivalent from four-year college
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good organization and communication skills
  • Strong Time Management skills
  • Work with a diverse group of individuals and organizations representing public agencies, private utilities, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Matlab/Python Experience 
  • Has taken Circuits 2 and/or an Electronics Lab Course
