Summary of Job Duties:
The master's level graduate research assistantships in plant biotechnology are available starting in Fall, 2024. The graduate assistants will research any of the following projects while earning an M.S. degree in Agricultural Regulations: 1) Understanding the virus reinfection in sweet potato, 2) Determining the alternate hosts for sweet potato viruses, and 2) Developing virus-tested sweet potato plants using shoot-tip meristem culture.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a B.S. in agriculture, biotechnology, or related science with a minimum GPA of 2.7 and a GRE of 290 + (verbal + quantitative) for GRE exams. A minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based test), 213 (computer-based test), or 79 (internet-based test) is required for admission to the graduate program. Applicants are evaluated based on undergraduate grades, letters of recommendation, immunization records, GRE scores, a resume, and a statement of purpose.
