Job Summary:

Product Development Manager will own the entire product lifecycle from concept to commercial success for an assigned product line of Energy Storage or Power Generation products and solutions. This role will act as both the strategic architect of our product and the commercial driving force behind its market adoption. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, commercial execution, and customer engagement.

Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 8–12+ years of experience in solutions development, product management, engineering, or technical sales.
  • Proven experience leading cross‑functional initiatives in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong ability to translate technical concepts into business value for executive and customer audiences.
  • Experience in industry‑specific domains such as energy, software, infrastructure, industrials, or SaaS preferred
  • Experience supporting enterprise or strategic customer accounts preferred
  • Familiarity with agile development, solution architecture, and lifecycle
    management preferred.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy and Roadmap
    • Define and execute the product strategy, develop and maintain a multi-year transparent, data-driven product roadmap aligned with market trends, utility needs, and regulatory drivers, and prioritize the backlog. Identify new product opportunities.
    • Discover and monitor competitive landscape and emerging technologies.
  • Technical Product Leadership
    • Write clear, concise Product Requirement Documents and user stories for the Product Engineering team. Translate customer requirements into scalable system architectures and product specifications. Ensure solutions meet performance, interoperability, and compliance standards.
    • Conduct continuous discovery interviews with customers to identify
      problem statements and validate technical solutions.
  • Commercial Ownership
    • Develop pricing strategies and cost targets. Analyze competitor pricing, market demand, and usage data to set pricing strategies and optimize profitability.
    • Own product line financial performance, including revenue growth, margin, and lifecycle profitability
  • Go-To-Market & Sales Enablement
    • Develop value propositions, competitive differentiation, and core
      messaging frameworks for Ideal Customer Profiles. Define target markets.
    • Develop clear value propositions focused on reliability, resiliency, and cost optimization
    • Go-To-Market (GTM): Plan and execute product launch strategies and orchestrate timelines across Sales and Marketing.
    • Build financial justification including the value-of-ownership and the
      levelized cost of storage models, and model economic optimization to maximize revenue.
    • Partner with Marketing to develop critical customer-facing collateral, including pitch decks, product data sheets, and case studies.
    • Educate the Sales team on how to pitch new features and provide competitive insights.
    • Support Sales on key opportunity pursuits, RFP responses, and customer presentations
  • Customer & Industry Engagement
    • Engage directly with utilities, developers, EPCs, and end customers to gather voice-of-customer insights
    • Represent PowerSecure at industry forums, conferences, and standards bodies
    • Identify partnership opportunities to expand solution capabilities
  • Lifecycle & Execution Alignment
    • Oversee the product lifecycle from concept through commercialization
    • Ensure alignment between product design, field deployment, and
      serviceability
    • Incorporate operational and field feedback to continuously improve
      product offerings
  • Cross-Functional Leadership
    • Serve as the central point of accountability across: Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Project Delivery / EPC teams, Regulatory and Compliance functions.
    • Drive alignment across stakeholders to ensure successful product
      execution

Working Conditions:

  • This position is hybrid.
  • Occasional travel may be required for training or meetings.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate different time zones
    (Central/Eastern/Mountain/Pacific), if necessary.
  • Be flexible for after-hours tasks, as needed.
