MARS Solutions Group is looking for an experienced Hardware Development Engineer II located in Mayfield Heights, OH. Position Overview

We are seeking a Hardware Development Engineer II to join a collaborative engineering team focused on developing advanced electronic and automation products. This role will contribute to the full product development lifecycle, including hardware design, prototyping, testing, verification, and compliance activities. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and thrives in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Participate in the design and development of electronic hardware systems and products.

Support hardware architecture, circuit design, integration, and verification activities.

Program, analyze, troubleshoot, and validate electronic hardware prototypes.

Develop and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and test reports.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development initiatives.

Assist with hardware testing, simulation, and automated test solution development.

Investigate and resolve technical issues related to hardware performance and reliability.

Research emerging technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Support regulatory, safety, and compliance requirements throughout product development.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in hardware product development or electronic design.

Experience reading and interpreting electronic schematics.

Strong understanding of circuit theory and electronic system operation.

Experience with one or more of the following:

Microprocessors and microcontrollers

Digital logic circuits

Analog circuit design

Power electronics or DC power conversion

CPLDs, FPGAs, or programmable logic devices

Ethernet or wireless communication technologies

Hands-on experience using electronic test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debuggers.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with hardware verification and validation processes.

Programming experience in Python, C++, or similar languages.

Familiarity with automated test development and design simulation tools.

Experience working in Agile or iterative development environments.

Knowledge of industry compliance, functional safety, EMC/EMI, or regulatory standards.

Ability to work effectively in cross-functional engineering teams.
