IACT Coordinator for Israel EngagementClark University HillelRole Overview

The IACT Coordinator for Israel Engagement will work under the supervision of the Hillel executive Director to manage and bolster the success of ClarkU Hillel with a focus on Israel engagement. The IACT Coordinator for Israel Engagement will be a dynamic self-starter, capable of envisioning and delivering upon a plan to grow the number of students engaged with Hillel, connecting to Israel, and thus traveling on ClarkU Hillel's Birthright Israel trips. They will provide support and inspiration to Birthright Israel participants before and after their trip. The IACT Coordinator will develop transformative experiences that engage participants in Hillel and Jewish life and will enable students to think meaningfully about how they want to grow in their Jewish identities, and what role Israel will play in their lives.

The IACT Coordinator for Israel Engagement will possess contagious Jewish passion, entrepreneurial energy, strong leadership, and networking skills. The IACT Coordinator for Israel Engagement, will become an active member of the Hillel staff, and will work with a diverse student body and will innovate, grow, and experiment with models of Jewish experience, community, prayer, and service that will influence the future of American Judaism.  

What You'll Do
  • Build hundreds of personal relationships with students.
  • Manage ClarkU Hillel's Birthright Israel program including recruitment, interviews,   pre-trip orientations, and improving the trip experience.
  • Participate in ClarkU Hillel E-board, coordinating council and Israel/Diaspora  Committee meetings.
  • Communicate regularly with Clark Hillel Leaders.
  • Recruit 2 Israel Engagement Interns and coordinate their efforts to reach a diverse Jewish student population through coffee meetings, tabling and social media outreach.
  • Coordinate and teach Jewish Learning Fellowships and/or Kol Yisroel programs.
  • Keep statistics of student involvement iand encourage Clark E-board to enter all engagements.
  • Together with our student leaders and Hillel Director, coordinate and participate in Erev Shabbat activities and Hillel-wide events, such as campus-based holiday meals and celebrations, bagel brunches, retreats, and outings.
  • Together with the Hillel Director, oversee the IACT Birthright Budget and provide oversight for the use of funds by student groups
  • Attend staff meetings and participate with regular supervision with the Hillel Director.

  • 1 - 3 of years of professional work experience
  • Bachelor's degree required.
