Job description

Your Contribution
As an Electrical Development Engineer reporting to the Head of AC Application Engineering, you will be responsible for developing custom electronic controllers (hardware and software) that are used to develop, test and demonstrate HVAC concepts / systems using MAHLE HVAC related components. When appropriate this team will support the production implementation of these custom implementations. The team also leads electrical component analysis related to warranty or other field claims.
This role is responsible to:
  • Develop schematics for electronic controllers and wire harnesses.
  • Maintain Schematic Capture Part Libraries
  • Design PCBs & Co-ordinate PCB builds with outside suppliers.
  • Utilize electrical / electronic design tools for schematic capture and multi-layered PCB design (Altium Designer preferred)
  • Packaging electronic / electrical systems
  • Fabricate electronic control boxes and wire harnesses.
  • Maintain parts crib and electronics lab.
  • Lead the warranty analysis of purchased electrical components used on our products to establish failure mode and root cause. This includes logging, testing, documenting results, and communicating with the supply base.
  • Supervisory activities may include interviewing and managing interns working for the Electronics & Software Group

Your Experience & Qualifications
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering Technology, or Electrical Engineering Technology
  • 2-5 years of professional experience in the Automotive or Commercial HVAC Industries
  • Proficient in electrical / electronic design tools for schematic capture and multi-layered PCB design (Altium Designer preferred)
  • Knowledge applying electrical components/systems particularly small motors (brushed and brushless)
  • Knowledge of high voltage DC applications
