  • Perform cable repairs and re-terminations (e.g., Cat 6, BNC, speaker wire, euroblock connectors).
  • Test cabling and endpoints to ensure integrity and maintain meticulous rack organization and labeling.

5. Core Technical Knowledge

  • Systems Comprehension: Comprehensive understanding of both AV and IT systems, including the ability to accurately read and interpret technical documentation such as blueprints, signal flow diagrams, and schematics.
  • Troubleshooting and Programming: Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving device communication issues and performing programming adjustments using software from key manufacturers, including Extron, Biamp, and Control4.
  • Networking Fundamentals: Solid knowledge of basic IP networking concepts (e.g., Static vs. DHCP, VLAN awareness, IP conflict resolution) and experience with Power over Ethernet (PoE) power budgets.
  • Video Systems: Understanding of both HDMI and HDBaseT video distribution technologies.
  • Audio Systems: Experience with audio Digital Signal Processing (DSP) systems and the capability to operate digital audio consoles—specifically Yamaha and Midas equipment—for Live Events.

Preferred Certifications

  • Industry Standard: AVIXA CTS certification or willing to certified within 2 years.
