An Internship Aircraft Mechanic job provides hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance and repair under the supervision of licensed mechanics. Interns assist with inspections, troubleshooting, and basic repairs while learning industry safety regulations and procedures. This role helps develop technical skills and gain exposure to real-world aviation maintenance operations. It is a great opportunity for students or aspiring mechanics to build experience and work towards certification.
As an intern aircraft mechanic, you can expect to work closely with experienced technicians on routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs of aircraft systems. Your responsibilities may include assisting with component removals, learning proper tool usage, updating maintenance logs, and observing troubleshooting procedures. Interns often rotate through various departments to gain exposure to different types of aircraft and maintenance tasks, enhancing both technical knowledge and problem-solving skills. This hands-on approach allows you to apply classroom learning in real-world scenarios and prepares you for future certification and employment opportunities in aviation maintenance.
To thrive as an Internship Aircraft Mechanic, you need a foundational understanding of aircraft systems, basic mechanical skills, and enrollment in or completion of an aviation maintenance program. Familiarity with inspection tools, hand tools, and digital maintenance record systems is commonly required, along with any relevant entry-level certifications such as FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) student coursework. Strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and effective teamwork and communication skills help interns stand out in fast-paced maintenance settings. These abilities are critical to ensuring safety, quality, and smooth collaboration during hands-on training in the aviation industry.

DAYTON-GRANGER, INC. (DG) is a third-generation family-owned aerospace manufacturer in Fort Lauderdale, FL that has been proudly operating for almost 83 years. We design, test, and manufacture aircraft antennas, electrostatic dischargers, and lightning protection components used on commercial, military, and private aircraft around the world. We have an average employee tenure of 8 years, reflecting our stability and strong company culture. See more about our benefits and why DG is a great place to work below.
As an Environmental Test Engineer I, you'll build hands-on experience in aerospace testing and qualification while working directly in DG's environmental test lab. Rather than focusing on traditional product design, you'll learn to operate specialized equipment that puts aerospace products through real-world environmental conditions - including vibration, shock, temperature, humidity, altitude, fluid exposure, and more - to evaluate how they perform. You'll set up and conduct tests, collect and document data, identify and communicate issues or failures to the engineering team, and progressively take greater ownership of the lab and its testing activities. This is an ideal opportunity for a recent engineering graduate or early-career engineer who is technically curious, enjoys hands-on problem solving, and wants to build a specialized career in aerospace testing. DG will provide training on our equipment, qualification processes, and applicable aerospace testing standards.
