At Calyx Living, a Raleigh-based company in the business of building and operating assisted living communities, our team works together to make a positive impact on the lives of seniors in North Carolina. Our locally owned and operated business is entering a new growth phase with several additional communities under development. We are seeking to hire an Administrator in Training who will be mentored and developed into becoming Executive Directors for the next communities in our new contemporary, holistic senior living brand, Calyx Living.                 

An Administrator in Training learns their way into a leadership role, often working as a "second in command" at various communities in the Triangle area, being trained and developed over a period of 6 to 18 months depending upon experience to become a licensed Executive Director in their own Triangle area community.

Administrator in Training Job Responsibilities  

  • Pursue the training curriculum and licensing requirements necessary to become a licensed Executive Director in an assisted living community.
  • Develop the skills needed to manage a community's day-to-day operations including service delivery, customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, staffing, and sales.
  • Maintain resident satisfaction while keeping us at full occupancy. Provide overall leadership necessary to ensure that we provide quality care and enrich the lives of our residents, ensuring our community is a happy, fun place to be!
  • Build relationships with our residents' families and the community as well as the employees that you help lead.
  • Ensure that the community is operated in accordance with Calyx's policies and values as well as all governmental regulations.
  • Support all human resource functions including hiring, retention, staffing and the leadership of the department head team.
  • Ensure that the community at large is aware of the great services we can offer residents and their families.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ADMINISTRATOR IN TRAINING

  • Meets the requirements for the NC Administrator in Training program within 6 months of hire, and will work with employer to acquire certification
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Basic computer skills including comfort with Microsoft Office and CRM databases.
  • Previous experience with directing and supervising a team - Including hiring, coaching, and performance management
  • A passion for working with seniors.
