Position Purpose
To provide programmatic and operational support for the office, with a primary focus on event logistics and execution, financial and procurement operations, support for internship funding efforts and serving as a central point of contact for students and visitors.
Description
The Center for Career Design is a hub for students exploring careers, making connections, and figuring out their next steps. Our team uses life design and a human-centered approach to help students make sense of their options and take action when they're ready. This role provides programmatic and operational support for the office, with a primary focus on event logistics and execution, financial and procurement operations, support for internship funding efforts and serving as a central point of contact for students and visitors.
Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp
Bachelors plus 1-2 year(s) of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree plus 1-3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in event coordination, program administration, or operations support.
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience maintaining data tracking systems and records; Experience with Airtable preferred.
  • Knowledge of financial and procurement processes, including purchasing, reimbursements, invoicing, and budget tracking.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience corresponding with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver a welcoming, responsive experience in a student- or customer-facing environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a higher education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizational environment.
  • Experience supporting internship, career development, or experiential learning programs.
  • Comfort with event technology tools, including AV setup, virtual meeting platforms, and event registration systems.

  • Coordinates and supports a portfolio of recurring and one-off programs, with a primary focus on event logistics and execution.
  • Manages end-to-end event operations (space reservations, vendors/venues as needed, materials, technology/AV, staffing, day-of run-of-show).
  • Ensures a high-quality participant experience through proactive planning, clear communication, and strong attention to detail.
  • Maintains event supply readiness (materials, signage, swag), including inventory tracking and replenishment recommendations.

  • Processes day-to-day financial transactions for the team (purchases, reimbursements, invoices, and contract-related payments as applicable).

  • Applies current Dartmouth finance/procurement policies; coordinates with central finance and procurement partners to ensure compliance and timely processing.

  • Supports continuous improvement efforts in data collection, tracking program outcomes, and identifying opportunities to enhance the student experience.
