Job Summary:
Hooker Furnishings Corporation is a designer and marketer of furniture for various markets. They are seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to maintain a data warehouse, provide business intelligence services, and develop Power BI reports.
Responsibilities:
• Building Analysis Services reporting models
• Developing visual reports, KPI scorecards, and dashboards using Power BI desktop
• Designing paginated reports to provide users with actionable information
• Connecting data sources, importing data, and transforming data for Business intelligence
• Analyzing data and displaying it in reports to aid decision-making
• Recognizing business requirements in the context of BI and creating data models to transform raw data into relevant insights
• Defining key performance indicators (KPIs) with specific objectives and tracking them regularly
• Analytical thinking for translating data into informative reports and visuals.
• Capable of implementing row-level security on data along with an understanding of application security layer models in Power BI.
• Expert in using advanced-level calculations on the data set.
• Creating meaningful and responsive measures in data sets to surface important information
• Should be able to develop tabular and multidimensional models that are compatible with data warehouse standards.
• Very good communication skills must be able to discuss the requirements effectively with the client teams, and with internal teams.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Experience with BI tools and systems such as Fabric, Power BI, Tableau, or SAP.
• Should possess strong SQL skills
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Synapse or other ETL tools
• Must have 2-3 years of experience in data-specific roles.
• Knowledge of Microsoft BI Stack
• Grip over data analytics
• Should possess software development skills
• Familiarity with common version control standards
• Experienced with Synapse or other Version Control tools
• Experience in creating and maintaining critical Data Models in support of key analytics
• DAX experience
