Job description

The Benefits Experience and Technology Risk team (BXT Risk) is responsible for managing employee benefits risk activities in countries where we do business. As a member of the BXT Risk team, the Senior Benefits Risk and Compliance Manager serves as the strategic architect of our benefits compliance ecosystem, working with US benefits policy, process, and system owners to design, administer, and test the organization's US health and welfare employee benefit programs, while evaluating these programs from a risk and compliance perspective.
This role combines comprehensive benefits compliance management with strategic risk oversight, ensuring seamless, compliant processes that empower our workforce and protect their most essential interests. The position includes analyzing statutory and regulatory US benefits requirements, working with project teams to translate these into system or process requirements, implementing and monitoring the effectiveness of controls designed to meet obligations, and developing and leading remediation plans to mitigate risk.
Key job responsibilities
• Consult with US Legal and Benefits/HR policy, process, and system owners to ensure that sound protocols are in place to mitigate the risks inherent in employee benefits programs and activities
• Identify, assess, and monitor known and emerging risks; measure internal control effectiveness; and develop and own action items to remediate identified risk issues
• Orchestrate comprehensive benefits compliance management, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
• Conduct risk and control assessments, determine state of compliance, analyze overall risk exposure, and draft reports detailing methodology, results, and remediation plans

The BXT Risk team is made up of lawyers, risk specialists, data security specialists, automation experts, and privacy specialists with global HR and benefits backgrounds. We are a dedicated collective committed to creating supportive, comprehensive benefits solutions. We provide our benefits stakeholders guidance to help them identify and manage potential risks and improve their team's risk management strategies and compliance posture. The team proactively scans the horizon for new and emerging risks not yet fully developed or understood, and performs inspections to identify compliance gaps and control weaknesses before they materialize into risk events. We provide end-to-end risk management oversight, including risk identification, risk assessments, risk quantification, compliance advisory services, inspection services, control design and testing, compliance solutions, risk monitoring and reporting, issue management, and risk training.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of strategic and operational medical program management in national employer health plans experience
- 5+ years of U.S. benefits programs and benefits administration management experience
- Bachelor's degree or above in Healthcare, Business, Human Resources, or related field
- Can develop ad-hoc reporting to meet specific business needs
- Can communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Experience managing international health benefits
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced degree, or MBA
- Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials
- Experience with complex commercial/legal concepts and drafting, ability to quickly read and interpret legal terminology and reasoning
- Experience working with large global teams
- Experience using English communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster seamless interaction with stakeholders at all levels
- Experience in data analysis and extracting insights to make data-backed business decisions
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Deep knowledge of federal benefits regulations including ACA, COBRA, ERISA, and HIPAA, as well as state and local regulations including Massachusetts, Vermont, Hawaii, and San Francisco

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
