Job description

Job Title: International Recruiter
Job Description
This contract International Recruiter role focuses on leading full-cycle international recruitment efforts, with a strong emphasis on hiring local talent in Japan. The position combines hands-on recruiting with strategic planning and project management to support an existing, high-priority hiring initiative. The recruiter will work within established processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement effective strategies to enhance global talent acquisition outcomes over the course of a 6-12 month contract, with potential for conversion.
Responsibilities
  • Lead full-cycle international recruiting efforts, with a primary focus on sourcing, screening, and hiring local talent in Japan.
  • Develop and organize recruitment strategies that align with existing talent acquisition processes while identifying and implementing enhancements.
  • Support an existing international hiring project by managing a starting volume of approximately 15-25 requisitions and scaling as needed.
  • Partner closely with the talent acquisition leadership to understand hiring needs, timelines, and priorities for engineering, manufacturing, corporate, aerospace, and defense roles.
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle, including job posting, candidate sourcing, interviewing, selection, offer management, and onboarding coordination.
  • Utilize applicant tracking systems and talent management systems to maintain accurate, up-to-date candidate and requisition records.
  • Apply strong project management skills to plan, track, and report on recruiting activities, ensuring deadlines and hiring goals are met.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure recruitment processes are followed while proposing and implementing process improvements where appropriate.
  • Leverage Microsoft Office tools to create reports, track metrics, and communicate hiring progress and project status.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail in candidate evaluation, documentation, and communication throughout the recruitment process.
  • Source and engage bilingual candidates as required for roles in Japan, ensuring alignment with role requirements and organizational standards.
  • Maintain a professional, solutions-focused approach when working within existing processes, contributing constructively to continuous improvement efforts.
Essential Skills
  • More than 5 years of experience in recruiting, with a strong focus on international recruiting.
  • Proven experience recruiting local talent in international markets, including Japan.
  • Demonstrated full-cycle recruiting experience across technical and high-level roles such as engineers, manufacturing, corporate, aerospace, and defense positions.
  • Hands-on experience with international recruiting strategies and practices, including sourcing and hiring candidates in Japan.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple requisitions and timelines.
  • High attention to detail in managing recruitment processes, candidate records, and communications.
  • Proficiency using applicant tracking systems and talent management systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for reporting, tracking, and communication.
  • Ability to work effectively within existing recruitment processes while identifying and implementing strategic improvements.
  • Comfort working in a fully onsite environment with no hybrid flexibility.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience recruiting in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Experience supporting large-scale or complex hiring projects that require structured project management.
  • Background in recruiting for a mix of technical, manufacturing, and corporate roles.

Work Environment
This role is fully onsite in the Torrey Pines area, with no hybrid flexibility. The position follows a 9/80 schedule, providing a structured workweek with a built-in day off every other week. You will work in a professional, corporate environment supporting an established aerospace and defense organization. Daily work involves extensive use of applicant tracking systems, talent management systems, and Microsoft Office tools to manage requisitions, candidates, and reporting. The setting emphasizes collaboration with talent acquisition leadership and other internal stakeholders, and you will operate within defined recruiting processes while contributing to their continuous improvement.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $63.00/hr.
