Location Overview
Join our team in Aman New York. East meets West and old meets new. Manhattan's iconic Crown Building is reimagined as Aman New York, where the city's original architectural splendour and Aman's harmonious design language collide, reimagining the inimitable tranquillity of Aman in the heart of Manhattan's midtown. With a year-round Garden Terrace, flagship Aman Spa and spacious suites all among the largest in the city.
Role
The Purchasing Agent ensures that all stocks and the storerooms are maintained in good condition and that all minimum inventories are met. He or She will also receive and distribute stocks to various departments on a timely basis.
This position has an hourly compensation rate of $35.
Responsibilities
  • Order, receive, classify, store, take care of, distribute, request and take inventory of food & beverage, materials, supplies and equipment.
  • Assist in the maintenance of perpetual inventories.
  • Prepare requisitions for stock replacement.
  • Develop methods and procedures for handling, storing and rotating stock.
  • Prepare lists of surplus or obsolete materials.
  • Expedite any outstanding purchase orders.
  • Supervise the loading, unloading and dispatching of delivery trucks.
  • Load and unload at the point of pick-up, delivery or distribution when necessary.
  • Pack, unpack, count, weigh and measure materials, supplies and equipment upon receipt.
  • Check materials received against invoices and notes breakage and discrepancies in quantity or quality.

Requirements
  • 1-year previous experience in hospitality, F&B industry or similar
  • Positive, engaging, and energetic personality
  • Able to be organized, manage time wisely and work with little to no direct supervision
  • Very high attention to detail and extensive service knowledge
  • Sensitive to cultural nuances
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English
  • Able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, fast paced environment
  • Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance as per company policies
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Multi-lingual is a plus
