About the Role:

The Trade Compliance & Foreign Trade Zone Specialist is responsible for ensuring the companyโ€™s import/export activities comply with all applicable U.S. and international trade regulations. This role supports Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations, tariff classification, licensing, and regulatory monitoring, while also contributing to warehouse operations including kitting, shipping, and receiving. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of navigating evolving trade requirements in a fast-paced semiconductor manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Classify products, components, and materials under HTS, , and ECCN frameworks.
  • Prepare and submit binding ruling requests to U.S. Customs and other regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Evaluate export transactions and apply for export licenses where required.
  • Monitor changes in trade regulations, tariffs, and sanctions; communicate impacts and implement updates.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs (CBP), Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), and other governing bodies.
  • Support and maintain Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations, including inventory control, admissions, and compliance reporting.
  • Assist with internal audits and maintain documentation to support import/export compliance programs.
  • Partner with procurement, logistics, and engineering teams to ensure accurate trade data and documentation.
  • Support shipping, receiving, and kitting operations to ensure accurate material handling and documentation.
  • Review commercial invoices, packing lists, and shipping documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to resolve shipment issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Supply Chain, International Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3โ€“7 years of experience in trade compliance, import/export operations, or FTZ administration.
  • Strong knowledge of HTS classification, ECCN determination, and U.S. export control regulations (EAR).
  • Experience with FTZ operations and compliance requirements preferred.
  • Familiarity with tariff regulations including Section 301, 232, and other trade remedies.
  • Experience preparing license applications and interacting with regulatory agencies.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and trade compliance tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), Certified Export Specialist (CES) or Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or (working toward certification.)
  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing or high-tech industries.
  • Knowledge of international logistics and global supply chain operations.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds as part of warehouse support activities.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform light physical tasks in a warehouse environment as needed.

Work Environment

  • Combination of office and warehouse environment.
