Job description

As a 3D Project Manager you will work with our sales, management and design staff to plan and execute projects with a focus on 3D or other unique, complicated executions. You will work with members of the production, sales, design, and engineering staff within Forge as well as manage outside project vendors. This will include estimating, managing deadlines, assigning responsibilities, managing client interaction and monitoring and communicating status of projects to internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in 3D fabrication and graphics production, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. As we work across many mediums and industries for our clients, this is a position for someone who enjoys a challenge that varies from day to day and wants to grow within a fun, creative and growing business.

Responsibilities:
  • Interface with client and be the representative of our company during meetings and client communication
  • Be involved in initial concept discussions with clients, providing technical knowledge to influence design, fabrication methods and materials
  • Make requests for special order materials, prototypes, samples or proofs as needed and ensure prototypes meet the client requirements in features, quality, and commitment dates.
  • Create estimates, production schedules, purchasing plans, install schedules and logistics plans
  • Working with engineering and production, plan projects to meet timelines and budget while suggesting fabrication methods, materials and substrates
  • Assemble and gather assets, materials, and other project needs. Create briefs for design as needed
  • Communicate all project requirements to internal teams and outside vendors
  • Problem solve and periodically monitor and report on project status to internal and external stakeholders
  • Required Skills:
  • At least 5 years of project management or similar experience in a large format printing or fabrication environment
  • Experience planning and managing 3D builds involving wood, metals, plastics, lighting and other projects such as trade show booths or retail displays
  • Ability to brief in and manage graphic design and 3D / Engineering projects
  • Creative thinker and problem solver
  • Thorough understanding of large format substrates, printing processes, materials, installation and fulfillment
  • Client facing experience with a polished, professional and confident demeanor
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and multitask quickly and effectively
  • Must genuinely enjoy organizing, planning and thinking quickly in a fast paced, demanding environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel and basic knowledge of 3D CAD and Adobe design suite.
