Job Summary


We are seeking a motivated and student-focused International Admissions Counselor to support the recruitment and admission of international students to Midwestern Career College. The International Admissions Counselor will serve as a primary point of contact for prospective and applying international students, guiding them through the admissions process from initial inquiry through enrollment.


The successful candidate will provide timely and personalized support to international applicants, evaluate application materials, conduct admissions interviews as appropriate, maintain accurate records, and work closely with the DSO Office to ensure smooth and positive student experience. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, cultural awareness, and the ability to manage multiple applicants and priorities in a fast-paced environment.



Responsibilities


•Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective and applying international students, providing accurate and timely information regarding MCC programs, admission requirements, application procedures, tuition and fees, and enrollment timelines.

•Guide international applicants through each stage of the admissions process, from initial inquiry and application submission through admission and enrollment.

•Respond promptly and professionally to prospective students and applicants through phone, email, text, virtual meetings, and other communication channels.

•Follow up consistently with prospective students and applicants to answer questions, address concerns, obtain outstanding documentation, and support application completion and enrollment.

•Review international student applications and supporting documents for completeness and compliance with established admission requirements and college policies.

•Communicate with applicants regarding missing or additional documentation and provide clear instructions for completing their applications.

•Conduct admissions interviews, information sessions, and/or enrollment consultations with prospective international students as assigned.

•Explain program requirements, F-1 student requirements, academic expectations, tuition and fees, payment requirements, and other enrollment-related information to prospective students and applicants.

•Coordinate with the DSO, Registrar, Academic Departments, Business Office, Student Services, and other internal departments to facilitate a smooth transition from admission to enrollment.

•Assist with the preparation and processing of admission documents and other materials required for international student enrollment.

•Maintain accurate and up-to-date applicant records, communication notes, application statuses, and follow-up activities in the college's lead management system.

•Monitor assigned leads and applicant pipelines and take appropriate follow-up actions to support application completion, admission, and enrollment goals.

•Maintain regular communication with admitted students prior to enrollment and assist with pre-arrival and onboarding activities as assigned.

•Support international recruitment and marketing activities, including virtual information sessions, student webinars, open houses, fairs, and other recruitment events.

•Assist with developing and maintaining relationships with prospective students, international schools, educational agencies, and other recruitment partners as assigned.

•Collaborate with the Marketing and other departments to provide feedback on prospective student questions, recruitment materials, and communications targeting international audiences.

•Stay informed about MCC programs, admission policies, international education trends, and applicable institutional policies and procedures.

•Maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, cultural sensitivity, and customer service when working with students and external partners.

•Identify challenges or recurring issues within the admissions process and provide recommendations to the supervisor for process improvement.

•Meet established individual admissions and enrollment activity goals and performance expectations.

•Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.

•Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.




Requirements:



Preferred Qualifications


•Experience working in a college, university, language school, or other educational institution.

•Experience with international student recruitment, admissions, or enrollment.

•Experience communicating with students or partners in international markets.

•Familiarity with F-1 student regulations.



Experience and Qualifications


•1–3 years of experience in Admissions, Enrollment, Student Services, International Education, Customer Service, or a related field is required.

•Experience working with international students and/or applicants is strongly preferred.

•Knowledge of international admissions processes and familiarity with F-1 student requirements and visa-related processes is strongly preferred.

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

•Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with demonstrated commitment to student success.

•Ability to effectively manage multiple applicants, follow-ups, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

•Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

•Ability to handle sensitive and confidential student information appropriately.

•Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative and follow through on assigned responsibilities.

•Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively with multiple departments.

•Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and customer relationship management (CRM), lead management, or student information systems.

•Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
