Job description

Control Risks is hiring a Protective Intelligence Analyst to help support the executive protection program of a major client of Control Risks. This role will require the candidate to have a clear understanding of executive protection and be able to independently produce tactical intelligence reports to include POI investigations, and executive event and travel assessments. This role will require the candidate to be able to clearly communicate with the client's EP team and executives, as well as the GSOC team to delegate responsibility for monitoring projects and support the broader intelligence teams.

  • Conduct protective intelligence research and analysis in support of senior executives, board members, executive travel,ย eventsย and other relevant exposure points.ย 
  • Identify, monitor, research and assess emerging threats, trends and issues that may affect the client's personnel, executives, facilities,ย travelย or operations.ย 
  • Conduct open-source research, social mediaย reviewย and online threat monitoring in support of protective intelligence requirements.ย 
  • Produceย timely,ย accurateย and actionable intelligence products, including recurring briefs, travel-specific assessments, event-support products, executive threatย assessmentsย and issue-driven reporting.ย 
  • Support the embedded executive protection team by providing threat context, route and location awareness, eventย intelligenceย and escalation support.ย 
  • Work closely with the client's existing analyst and Global Security leadership to ensure protective intelligence is coordinated with broader geopolitical, travel,ย eventย and workplace violence / threat-management efforts.ย 
  • Support the development of reporting formats, workflows, escalationย thresholdsย and standard products for a new or maturing protective intelligence function.ย 
  • Monitor automated alerts and relevant information sources toย identifyย threats, suspicious activity, persons of interest or issues requiring review.ย 
  • Conduct preliminary persons-of-interest research and support escalation of cases requiring deeper investigation, threatย assessmentย or specialist support.ย 
  • Maintainย accurateย case notes, research files, intelligenceย productsย and other records consistent with client and Control Risks expectations.ย 
  • Use client-provided tools and systems, which may include Seerist, Ontic, Everbridge, TLO, International SOS TRM, Virtual Commandย Centerย or other platforms asย required.ย 
  • Coordinate with Control Risks' Online Threat Intelligence and specialist teams forย methodology, workflow guidance, qualityย assuranceย and limited reach-back support within the agreed operating model.ย 
  • Provideย timelyย verbal briefings to executive protection personnel, Global Security stakeholders and other client decision-makers as needed.ย 
  • Support emergency or off-hours response in exceptional cases involving active threats, travelย disruptionย or time-sensitive executive risk concerns.ย 
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the client and Control Risks Embedded Consulting Services.ย 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in history, political science, international relations, intelligence analysis, criminal justice, regional studies, or a related discipline.
  • 5-7 years of experience in protective intelligence, threat intelligence, security analysis, or related analytical roles.
  • Experience supporting executive protection, senior executive risk, travel security, event security, workplace violence / threatย managementย or similar security programs strongly preferred.ย 
  • Demonstrated ability to collect,ย evaluateย and synthesize information from multiple sources into concise and actionable intelligence products.ย 
  • Strong written and verbal briefing skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with both operational teams and senior client stakeholders.ย 
  • Working knowledge of open-source research methods, online threat monitoring, social mediaย researchย and digital investigative techniques.ย 
  • Familiarity with protective intelligence concepts, persons-of-interest assessment, threatย escalationย and executive-risk workflows.ย 
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Seerist, Ontic, Everbridge, TLO, International SOS TRM, Virtual Commandย Centerย or comparable tools preferred.ย 
  • Ability to work independently whileย remainingย aligned with a broader security team and client operating environment.ย 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, competing priorities and time-sensitive requirements.ย 
  • Strong discretion,ย judgmentย and ability to handle sensitive information.ย
