About the Role – What You’ll Do

As our Infection Preventionist, you’ll be a key member of the Quality Management team, leading efforts to prevent and manage healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). This role blends data analysis, staff education, policy development, and hands-on leadership to ensure a safe, high-quality care environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting infection surveillance and trend analysis

  • Developing and updating infection prevention protocols

  • Educating staff and patients on infection control best practices

  • Investigating and managing outbreaks

  • Leading risk assessments and recommending improvements

  • Ensuring compliance with CDC, CMS, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards

  • Driving quality improvement through data-driven strategies

  • Collaborating across departments to influence and improve infection prevention practices


Required Skills
Qualifications
  • Licensed RN in the state of Oklahoma (required)

  • CIC Certification and/or HACP-IC within 2 years of hire

  • Background in nursing, epidemiology, microbiology, or public health

  • Strong knowledge of infectious diseases and infection control practices

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient in surveillance, data analysis, and computer systems

  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving ability and collaborative spirit


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role involves both clinical and administrative work in a temperature-controlled setting. Candidates must be comfortable with:

  • Frequent walking, standing, reaching, and occasional lifting (30–50 lbs)

  • Exposure to blood/body fluids and infectious diseases

  • Effective communication with diverse teams, patients, and physicians

  • Using a variety of software applications and diagnostic technologies
