Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton is looking for a Human Resource Manager!

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the overall administration of the Human Resources function, including recruitment and retention, employee relations, benefits administration, payroll, performance management, policy administration, compliance, employee engagement, and recordkeeping.  This position provides leadership and guidance to employees of all levels while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as long-term care regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and job descriptions
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA, CMS, IDPH, wage and hour regulations, and Illinois employment laws.
  • Responsible for the administration of all insurance benefits including reconciling carrier invoices, COBRA reporting, enrollment changes, open enrollment, governmental reporting, and leave programs
  • Administer the company retirement plan, including compliance testing, annual employer contribution submission, government reporting, and employee enrollments/changes
  • Responsible for the preparation of Form 1095-Cs and associated annual reporting
  • Assist supervisors with employee coaching, counseling, corrective actions, investigations, and terminations
  • Manage unemployment claims, workers’ compensation administration, and employment verifications
  • Provide oversight over recruiting department, developing and executing recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates
  • Attend job fairs and networking opportunities to promote employment opportunities
  • Foster a positive workplace culture through employee engagement and recognition initiatives
  • Respond to employee concerns and assist with conflict resolution
  • Provide oversight over payroll department, processing payroll on a back-up basis when necessary
  • Responsible for the coordination and distribution of annual performance reviews and employee compensation changes
  • Complete annual MVR/driver audits to determine driving eligibility for employees
  • Conduct employee satisfaction surveys
  • Administer nursing Scholarship and tuition reimbursement programs
  • Assign and track completion of required employee education
  • Coordinates staffing schedule and orientations for agency personnel
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible Human Resource experience required
  • Recruiting and employee relations experience required
  • Professional HR Certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) required
  • Previous healthcare or long-term care experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and human resources practices
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR software systems
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • This is a full-time role for approximately 40 hours weekly

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds
  • Frequently use a computer, telephone, and standard office equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and in writing

Working Conditions:

Work is performed primarily in an office environment within a skilled nursing facility.  Frequent interaction with employees, residents, family members, vendors, and regulatory agencies is required.  Occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary to support recruitment or payroll activities, employee events, or operational needs.
