The Senior Director, International Accounting is responsible for overseeing accounting, reporting, and internal controls for GXO’s operations across Latin America and Asia Pacific. This role ensures compliance with global accounting standards, drives process improvements, and supports strategic initiatives to enhance financial integrity and operational efficiency. The position plays a critical role in managing cross-border complexities and aligning regional practices with corporate objectives.

This position will be located in the Dallas Fort Worth area, Hybrid schedule.  

What you’ll do on a typical day: 

  • Oversee international accounting operations across EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regions.
  • Ensure compliance with global accounting standards and local statutory requirements.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for international entities.
  • Manage global consolidation and intercompany transactions.
  • Partner with Tax, Treasury, and FP\&A teams to optimize financial processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in accounting systems and controls.
  • Lead external and internal audits for international operations.
  • Develop and implement global accounting policies and procedures.
  • Provide strategic guidance on complex accounting issues and new regulations.
  • Responsible for accuracy of international financial statements impacting global revenue.
  • Oversees accounting processes for multiple legal entities across diverse jurisdictions.
  • Implements operational plans and ensures compliance with corporate governance.
  • Operates with minimal supervision; expected to provide strategic leadership.
  • Develops new processes for global compliance and efficiency.
  • Resolves complex, ambiguous accounting challenges impacting multiple regions.
  • Innovates in automation and system enhancements for international reporting.
  • Regular interaction with global finance leadership, external auditors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Influences senior stakeholders and negotiates with external partners.
  • Communicates across multiple time zones and cultures.
  • Directly manages senior accounting managers and indirectly oversees regional teams.
  • Provides coaching, training, and succession planning for international finance talent.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required
  • 7+ years experience in Accounting, with at least 3 years in managing/leading a team
  • Expert knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP and statutory reporting requirements
