POSITION SUMMARY/CLASS DESCRIPTION Are you passionate about art, dance, music, culinary arts, STEM, acting, sports, or science and engineering. If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you. This summer, we are seeking energetic, enthusiastic, and responsible Camp Counselors to inspire and empower children aged 5-15.

In this role, you will guide campers as they explore a variety of exciting activities, helping them discover new talents, build confidence, and develop lasting friendships. Ideal applicants should be available Monday through Friday and able to work a shift between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM. BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Under the direct supervision of a Coordinator and the guidance of the Camp Director, the Camp Counselor provides support in a specific area of expertise within a specialized program for children, youth, or teens.

The Counselor may be responsible for teaching, organizing, and supervising selected activities within a summer camp setting. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES DUTIES: Assist campers in exploring activities and creative experiences. Foster a positive, inclusive, and fun environment for camper growth.

Supervise participants in accordance with all safety guidelines. Serve as a mentor and role model, encouraging campers to reach their potential. Plan and implement daily activities.

Maintain accurate attendance at all times. Communicate effectively with staff, school personnel, volunteers, parents, and participants. Document and report accidents, incidents, property damage, major disciplinary issues, and other concerns to the Camp Director.

Maintain facility cleanliness, including trash removal, sweeping, and equipment setup/takedown. Follow uniform guidelines. Adhere to all Howard County Recreation and Parks policies, procedures, and camp standards.

Attend mandatory staff meetings and training. Perform additional duties assigned by the Camp Director. MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Level I - Includes experience and specialized education and training or certification in skill area.

Level II - Includes two (2) years of professional experience and specialized education and training in specialized field or college graduate with two(2) years of experience. RATE OF PAY: Salary commensurate with education and experience. Contingent (Paraprofessional) Level I - Minimum Wage to - $18.00 (Paraprofessional) Level II - $18.00 - $24.00 (Paraprofessional) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: TO APPLY: You must complete an employment application online to be considered for this recruitment
