Desktop Support Engineer (Part-Time / On-Demand)

Location: Warsaw, IN (Onsite)

Axiom Technologies is seeking an experienced Desktop Support Engineer to provide onsite Level 1 and Level 2 IT support for our client in Warsaw, Indiana. This is a part-time, on-demand dispatch role, ideal for experienced IT professionals looking for flexible project-based work.

Please Note:

  • This is an on-demand dispatch role, and the number of working hours is not guaranteed.
  • Candidates must be willing to travel to the client site when dispatched.
  • Applicants must have their own standard IT support toolkit required for onsite troubleshooting and hardware installations.
  • This position is offered only on a 1099 Independent Contractor basis. No benefits are provided.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide onsite Level 1 and Level 2 technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and related IT infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system, and network-related issues while adhering to customer security and warranty requirements.
  • Monitor and manage assigned support tickets, ensuring timely resolution and escalation when necessary.
  • Update ServiceNow and other documentation repositories with accurate and timely information.
  • Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) activities, including hardware deployments, refreshes, and workstation setups.
  • Install, configure, and support Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Provide desk-side support for end users and resolve technical incidents efficiently.
  • Perform basic LAN and networking troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate with internal IT teams and client stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction through excellent communication and professional service.
  • Identify process improvements and contribute to knowledge base documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and service standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience providing onsite IT Infrastructure/Desktop Support.
  • Strong experience troubleshooting Windows 10 & Windows 11 environments.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft 365 (O365).
  • Hands-on experience with desktop, laptop, printer, and peripheral support.
  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar IT Service Management tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and basic networking issues.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Flexible availability to support on-demand service requests.
Preferred Certifications
  • CompTIA A+
  • At least one certification from Cisco or Microsoft
  • OEM certifications such as Dell, HP, Lenovo, or Toshiba are a plus.
