Job description

Job Summary :

Serves the needs of the inpatient, outpatient, physicians, and associates by collecting, maintaining, and
making available to authorized users timely, accurate, and complete patient health information. Prioritizes,
locates, pulls, assembles, electronically tracks, and see to the appropriate transport of records requested
by other departments in accordance with established standards. Provides assistance with the clerical and
filing functions for the Health Information Management Department.
This position reports to the manager of the Health Information Management Department.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Run daily discharge report
  • Perform daily rounds to obtain medical records of discharged patients, including their old medical records from the following areas: ICU; Medical Floor; Surgery Floor; Same Day Care; Cardiac Cath Lab; Pediatrics; Childbirth Center; Endoscopy; IV Therapy
  • Sort and assemble discharge charts.
  • Answer phones, check voicemails, check and respond to faxes
  • Sort mail
  • Follow up on missing charts
  • Scan in late filing charts
  • Check MyChart medical record requests from patients
  • Purge and straighten paper charts timely
  • Scan AHN, Cardiac Rehab, Revenue Integrity and TOC charts
  • Scan disclosures
  • Perform DJO printing
  • Scan and email EpicCare Link documentation
  • Print quick release for ICU patient transfers
  • Work life insurance Chart Gateway requests
  • Resolves scanning issues (deleting, removing, moving, renaming) and resolves HIM tickets in the ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus

Education/Experience:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Medical Terminology and prior medical record experience in acute healthcare or provider clinic is strongly preferred.

Licenses or Certifications:

  • Strongly preferred certifications: CMA, CMAA, RMA, NCMA, or CCMA.

Work Shift :

8:00am - 5:00pm (United States of America)
