ChristianaCare is currently seeking a Full Time Intelligence & Communications Specialist to join the team and support successful routing of calls requiring public safety, fire protection, occupational safety, etc. The successful candidate will be responsible for dispatching proper personnel to respond to requests for assistance in a clear and timely manner and will work as needed . Dispatchers are responsible for working in our Christiana Hospital on 10-12 hour shifts for day or night.
  • Answer all incoming calls, prioritize based on urgency, document all information in CAD, and dispatch appropriate internal emergency responders utilizing the ChristianaCare radio system.
  • Conduct real-time threat assessment and situational awareness monitoring using intelligence platforms.
  • Analyze and evaluate intelligence feeds to identify potential threats to caregivers, patients, visitors, and facilities.
  • Monitor and manage Public Safety applications for Panic Alarms, Staff Duress, Access Control, Burglar Alarms, Fire Alarms, Infant Alarms, Maintenance Alarms.
  • Monitor all ChristianaCare cameras throughout the organization.
  • Support proactive safety initiatives through early detection and communication of emerging risks.
  • Monitor 800 MHz channels for Public Safety activity and helicopter landing notifications; dispatch appropriate personnel.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Two years prior dispatching or Public Safety-related experience (Required)
  • Completion of Basic Telecommunicator Course within 1 year of hire (Required)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DELJIS certification and comply with CJIS/Nlets requirements (Required)
  • Completion of ICS 100, 200, and 700 within 1 year (Required)
  • Completion of Active Shooter training within 2 years (Required)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, & ABILITY
  • Knowledge of dispatch systems, CAD, CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and intelligence platforms
  • Knowledge of ChristianaCare policies, procedures, and campus geography
  • Proficiency in computer systems and data entry
  • Strong communication, listening, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm in high-stress environments
  • Ability to analyze information and exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Flexibility to work all shifts, including on-call assignments

Schedule:
  • 12hr day shift
  • E/O Weekend
  • 2/2/3 schedule

Hourly Pay Range: $21.03 - $31.54
This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
