Job description

Overview

Atlantic Health is seeking an Internal Communications Specialist. This role works in a matrix organization to support the development of powerful team member-focused communications, drive team member engagement, and promote medical center and system initiatives, events and activities. You will be a vital member of the corporate internal communications team reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Communications and partnering with teams across Atlantic Health, including medical center presidents, chief medical offers, chief nursing officers and other site leaders.

Responsibilities

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in communications to collaborate on a variety of internal communications projects, with the following accountabilities:

  • Medical Center Leadership Communications: Support development of content and messages for medical center presidents and other leaders using various internal channels and vechicles, ranging from e-newsletters and informational emails to assistance with posts and content development for Viva Engage (by Microsoft) and the Atlantic Health intranet (The Compass).

  • Team Member Communications: A critical audience is our 20,000 team members across 400 + locations, including our medical centers (Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center, Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center, Atlantic Health Chilton Medical Center, Atlantic Health Newton Medical Center, Atlantic Health Hackettstown Medical Center). This individual is responsible for developing and executing communications strategies that engage the team on system and medical center business strategies. The focus should be placed on creative communications strategies and materials that bring our brands to life across multiple platforms.

  • Medical Center Branding: Develop communications that position Atlantic Health's medical centers as organizations team members love to work for. Partner with Atlantic Health's marketing and public relations teams to highlight and promote medical center accomplishments tied to our strategic goals.

  • Live Events: Work with a cross-functional teams, including medical center leadership, on promotion and content development for a variety of events.

  • Active Onsite Presence: Travel to the Atlantic Health sites and facilities we support as needed for meetings and events.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism or a related field.

Relevant Experience/Skills:

  • 5 plus years of experience in internal communications, or related field.

  • Expert presentation skills, professional presence, and the ability to partner with colleagues at all levels.

  • Experience in copywriting and editing.

  • Experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop preferred.

  • Proficiency with internal and external social media platforms such as Viva Engage  and LinkedIn.

  • Ability to work onsite and travel regularly between Atlantic Health facilities.
