Job description

Checkr is looking for an Internal Communications Manager as we prepare for an exciting next phase of growth. We're looking for someone who understands the technology industry, thrives in a high growth environment, and can easily toggle between strategy and execution.ย

As an Internal Communications Manager you will work closely with leaders across the company to help Checkr teammates understand our vision, goals, and executive updates. You will execute internal and executive communications programs that connect employees to the bigger picture and bring our strategy to life. The ideal candidate is a skilled storyteller with sharp editorial instincts, a collaborative working style, and a knack for making complex information land.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute internal and executive communications programs: help align messaging with the company's vision, mission, and product positioning.
  • Write and produce employee communications, including announcements, newsletters, executive messages, town halls, all-hands, and kick-off events.
  • Manage and continuously optimize the internal communications strategy, including ownership of the editorial calendar.
  • Build a strong understanding of the voice of the employee by gathering feedback and signals to inform what we communicate and how.
  • Partner cross-functionally with leaders across all functions to deliver communications initiatives end-to-end and keep our narrative consistent across channels.
  • Support company-wide and leadership meetings: help craft the messaging, agenda, and speaker prep.
  • Leverage AI to scale your own work and continue to uplevel internal communications across Checkr.

What you bring:

  • Experience: 8+ years in internal or corporate communications, ideally at a fast-growing tech company.
  • Executive communications: You can write and tailor content for specific audiences with a deep understanding of messaging, positioning, and stakeholder needs. You're comfortable working with executives at all levels and can translate their voice into clear, compelling communications.
  • AI fluency: You're a sophisticated user of AI tools and bring them into your everyday workflow to scale your impact and uplevel communications.ย
  • Editorial judgment and project leadership: You know what to amplify, what to skip, and how to land it. You can run multi-stakeholder communications projects end-to-end, measure what's working through engagement and sentiment, and adapt as you go.
  • Employee empathy: You bring genuine curiosity about what employees need and care about, and translate those signals into communications that land.
  • Steady through change: You've delivered communications through reorgs, leadership transitions, and other moments of high stakes, and know how to bring clarity when employees need it most.
