Position Overview:
We're Zumiez, a 650+ store leading specialty retailer of apparel, footwear, accessories and hardgoods for young men and women who want to express their individuality through the fashion, music, art and culture of action sports, street wear and other unique lifestyles.
The Zumiez Marketing department is looking for a dedicated and ambitious marketing intern to join the team in supporting all areas of marketing events. The marketing intern will work directly with the Brand Marketing Team to help research and execute physical and digital events in order to blow the minds of our customers and employees.
The Zumiez Brand Marketing team contributes to the customer brand experience by planning and hosting events, operating The Zumiez Stash rewards program, and managing communication channels. In all of those initiatives, we get to partner with the best brands in action sports and streetwear.
This internship timeline is flexible and we can work on the exact timeframe during the hiring process, but generally it would be from February through May and offer you the opportunity to get your feet wet in a wide range of marketing initiatives. You will contribute to Marketing events and promotions, The Zumiez Stash rewards program, and research projects for the future of the organization.
Principal Responsibilities:
  • Assist with all Zumiez marketing initiatives
  • Assist in ideation and execution of creative activations for events
  • Support marketing team in production of event materials, props/décor, and signage for both internal & external events/promos
  • Assist in general marketing research projects including gathering and sorting information and building reports/research documents
  • Participate in back-end operations for The Zumiez Stash program with heavy involvement in helping the program manage rewards and sweepstakes
  • Learn the basics of all areas of the Marketing department, helping with logistics and administrative tasks as needed to execute projects effectively and successfully
  • Help with transcription for internal events and meetings

  • Complete willingness to support multiple disciplines and levels of a marketing team.
  • Great attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through
  • Ability to stay focused and work independently (self starter) and as part of a team.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, and to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
  • Good decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, & Outlook
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Willingness to travel and work over weekends and holidays when necessary.
