Responsibilities:
  • Supports Austin Commercial BIM/VDC processes on assigned projects
  • Spends time at the jobsite supporting BIM/VDC field construction processes on assigned projects
  • Stays current on what is being marketed/executed by our competition locally
  • Creates models including site logistics, structure, interior/exterior architecture, and MEP/FP systems as needed
  • Ability to validate model quality and accuracy
  • Performs model revisions and manages model distribution
  • Ability to create custom model components and families
  • Ability to create, revise, and maintain 4D schedule
  • Maintains BIM/VDC coordination schedules on assigned projects
  • Distributes BIM/VDC coordination files on assigned projects
  • Assists the BIM/VDC coordination effort, identifying areas of conflict and leads conflict resolution
  • Tracks and reports on BIM/VDC coordination progress and efficiency
  • Creates and distributes coordination meeting minutes
  • Ability to create dimensioned drawings from the model for field use
  • Supports BIM/VDC layout on projects and assists in field as-built verification
  • Validates model accuracy for model based quantity takeoff
  • Assists in creation of model based quantity surveys for estimate verification
  • Models components as needed for accurate quantity takeoff

Requirements:
  • A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or completion of Construction Management Certificate Program or equivalent
  • A Minimum 1 year of project engineering experience is preferred - Intern Field Engineer, Office Engineer, or equivalent
  • General knowledge of construction related BIM/VDC processes and software
  • Possesses effective written and verbal English language communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks based on relevant factors
  • General understanding of construction terminology and processes; construction materials and systems; and drawings and specifications
  • General understanding of planning and scheduling concepts; construction work sequencing; and quality control principles
  • General understanding of quality control principles
