Objetivo Principal

Liderar la busqueda de talento amateur de beisbol de los Toronto Blue Jays en la Republica Dominicana, lo que requiere un conocimiento profundo de los prospectos internacionales actuales y futuros. Apoyar el exito de la organizacion mediante la supervision y el desarrollo de los scouts de area en Republica Dominicana, asegurando una cobertura integral de jugadores, una programacion y comunicacion eficientes, y evaluaciones de alta calidad. Mantener una organizacion excepcional de la informacion de los jugadores, los planes de scouteo y la cobertura de eventos para garantizar que el club tenga la vision mas completa posible del mercado amateur dominicano. Representar y promover la vision y los valores de los Toronto Blue Jays en todas las interacciones internas y externas.

Responsabilidades y Funciones

  • Liderar, supervisar y orientar a los scouts de area en Republica Dominicana; proporcionar retroalimentacion continua, apoyo en terreno y oportunidades de desarrollo profesional
  • Asegurar que los scouts esten alineados con los procesos de scouteo de los Blue Jays, los estandares de evaluacion, la calidad de los reportes y las expectativas de cobertura de jugadores
  • Coordinar la cobertura de scouteo junto con el personal de scouteo de Republica Dominicana
  • Realizar evaluaciones de jugadores amateurs dominicanos, tanto en persona como mediante video
  • Colaborar en la recopilacion de antecedentes y en el fortalecimiento de relaciones con los jugadores
  • Ofrecer opiniones que integren evaluacion subjetiva, datos objetivos, informacion sobre el caracter y factores contextuales

Requisitos

  • Dominio fluido del espanol y solidas habilidades de comunicacion profesional en ingles
  • Residir de forma permanente en la Republica Dominicana (o estar dispuesto a reubicarse de inmediato) y tener disponibilidad para viajar con frecuencia dentro del pais, asi como ocasionalmente a eventos internacionales
  • Experiencia previa en scouteo amateur o internacional, evaluacion de jugadores, desarrollo de jugadores o un puesto comparable dentro de operaciones de beisbol
  • Solido conocimiento del beisbol amateur dominicano, incluyendo academias, entrenadores (buscones) y circuitos de exhibicion (showcases)

The Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Operations department is in search of a Dominican Republic Scouting Supervisor!

Primary Focus

Reporting to the Director, Latin American Operations, the Scouting Supervisor will lead the Toronto Blue Jays' search for amateur baseball talent in the Dominican Republic which requires a deep knowledge of current and future international prospects. The Scouting Supervisor will support organizational success by supervising and developing Dominican area scouts, ensuring comprehensive player coverage, efficient scheduling and communication, and highquality evaluations. While also maintaining exceptional organization of player information, scouting plans, and event coverage to ensure the club has the most complete insight into the Dominican amateur market. The Scouting Supervisor must uphold the vision and values of the Toronto Blue Jays in all internal and external interactions.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor Dominican area scouts; provide ongoing feedback, field support, and professional development opportunities
  • Ensure scouts are aligned with Blue Jays scouting processes, evaluation standards, reporting quality, and player coverage expectations
  • Coordinate scouting coverage with Dominican scouting staff
  • Provide inperson and video scouting evaluations on Dominican amateur players
  • Assist with background collection
    and relationshipbuilding with players
  • Offer opinions that integrate subjective evaluation, objective data, makeup information, and contextual factors
  • Organize and manage workout invites, facility coordination, testing schedules, and data collection
  • Share insights with Player Development staff to support postsigning plans and player success
  • Participate in learning opportunities, mentorship, and cross-departmental training
  • Model professionalism, integrity, and the Blue Jays' organizational values in every environment
  • Frequent travel within the Dominican Republic including academies and independent fields
  • Travel to Toronto or other locations for regional and full scouting meetings, as assigned

Requirements

  • Bilingual, as fluency in Spanish and strong professional English communication skills required
  • Must live fulltime in the Dominican Republic (or be willing to relocate immediately) and be able to travel frequently within the country, as well as occasionally to other international events
  • Must hold a valid driver's license, and have access to a vehicle
  • Prior experience in amateur or international scouting, player evaluation, player development, or a comparable baseball
