Summary

This position supports the Water SCADA system, a 24x7 real time operation control system, used by Water Transmission for delivery of water from the dams throughout the valley canal system. The position will provide support for engineering and analyst staff in the development, testing and implementation of reports and alerts. The student intern will work daily scheduled hours based on the department's needs, with a minimum requirement of 15 hours and up to 40 hours per week maximum.

What You'll Do

   Assist engineers, analysts and technicians in their daily work.
   Develop reports and alerts using a relational database and web reporting.
   Work with event monitoring software to help monitor system.
   Develop displays in Wonderware HMI software.
   Assist in print review of electrical drawings.
   Network administration includes firewalls, servers and networking components.

Education
A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
Experience

Experience with computer programming would be valuable. Experience with relational databases and .NET programming is desired. A strong technical background in IT and/or Engineering would be helpful.

Additional Information:


   Position is maximum 40 hours/week.
   Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
   Quantitative problem-solving skills.
   Ability to work well in a team environment.

Additional Requirements and Qualifications
College level coursework (100 or higher) from an accredited institution is preferred. Management will evaluate college-level coursework individually to determine if it is applicable to the position and relevant to the required skills. Knowledge such as accounting, general administrative principles, communications, marketing, personnel, finance, training, business and other non-scientific fields.

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
