Job description

Advanced RN PeriOp/PACU Specialist

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, providing exceptional perioperative and post-anesthesia care. This role involves delivering direct patient care through the nursing process, demonstrating clinical expertise, and adhering to professional nursing ethics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Adhere to established safety protocols including infection control, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to maintain a secure care environment.
  • Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and educate patients and families to promote optimal health outcomes.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance quality, and ensure safety.
  • Document all patient care activities accurately to support compliance with quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, healthcare team members, patients, and families to improve care and patient experience.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.
  • Adapt positively to healthcare dynamics and pursue continuous professional development.
Education

Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.

Experience

At least one year of healthcare experience is preferred.

Requirements
  • Current RN license in a Compact State or the state of Missouri.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Mental and Physical Demands

This position requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Conditions

Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases, as well as occasional encounters with hostile individuals. Minimal physical discomfort is expected.
