Warehousing Industrial Engineering Intern - Job Description
Position Summary
The Warehousing Industrial Engineering Intern supports the analysis and improvement of warehouse operations. This role provides hands-on experience in optimizing processes, improving productivity, and using data to drive operational decisions within a distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in analyzing warehouse processes such as receiving, picking, packing, and shipping
  • Support time studies and data collection to evaluate labor productivity
  • Help identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements
  • Participate in continuous improvement (Lean / Six Sigma) projects
  • Assist with warehouse layout planning and slotting optimization
  • Analyze operational data using Excel or other tools to track performance metrics
  • Help create reports, dashboards, and visual presentations of key KPIs
  • Support implementation of new processes, tools, or systems
  • Work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and leadership teams

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
  • Strong interest in warehousing, logistics, or operations
  • Basic knowledge of Excel (formulas, pivot tables preferred)
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
  • Familiarity with Lean principles or continuous improvement concepts
  • Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools
  • Understanding of warehouse operations or supply chain fundamentals

Intern Hourly Rate:
