Job Goal:
The Business Intern provides administrative, operational, and project support to various departments while gaining practical experience in business operations, organizational management, customer service, data analysis, and professional workplace practices. This position is designed for college/university students or recent graduates seeking hands-on exposure to business functions in a professional environment.
The intern will work closely with department staff on special projects, daily operations, research assignments, and process improvement initiatives while developing valuable workplace skills.
Reports To:
Department Manager/Supervisor
Qualifications
  1. Currently enrolled in college, university, or vocational programs.
  2. Interest in business administration, management, human resources, finance, operations, marketing, public administration, or a related field.
  3. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) or Google Workspace.
  4. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  5. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Assist with day-to-day administrative and operational activities.
  2. Support staff with data entry, recordkeeping, filing, and document management.
  3. Conduct research and compile information for reports, presentations, and projects.
  4. Assist in preparing spreadsheets, correspondence, and business documents.
  5. Support customer service functions by responding to inquiries and directing requests appropriately.
  6. Participate in meetings, take notes, and assist with follow-up action items.
  7. Help maintain databases and ensure data accuracy.
  8. Assist with organizing events, training, and departmental activities.
  9. Analyze data and prepare summaries, charts, and reports.
  10. Support special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
  11. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
