Job description

We are looking for 1 Intern/Co-op for the Spring 2027 semester who can work full time, onsite, with employment starting in January. The Industrial Design Intern/Co-op will assist the Product Design team with new product activities, market research, and field testing. This is a high-energy position and is involved in various aspects of early product design concepts and supports projects throughout various stages of product development. Candidates should be ready to demonstrate an imaginative mindset seeking to solve real-world problems within a certain market, a willingness to understand the customer, and a strong desire to learn and engage in a clear and respectful manner


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: other duties as assigned.

  • Upholds Andis Core Values in all work-related activities.
  • The Industrial Design Intern/Cop-op will primarily be responsible for supporting the Design Team by performing the following tasks:
    • Observation and documentation of market and cultural trends
    • Mood board creation including form, color, materials, and finishes to inform product ideation
    • Rapid visualization using physical and digital tools
    • Product concepting including sketches and model building
    • Product design critiques
    • Creation of Color, Materials, and Finishes (CMF) documentation
    • File system management including data entry and data hygiene
    • Final product renderings using Keyshot
  • Additional support would be provided on the following items:
    • Assists Product Design team with new product field testing activities including sample shipping, survey development and data analysis

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited technical school or university studying toward an associate/bachelor’s degree in art, design, or product development.
  • Clear communicator, motivated and ambitious
  • Detail oriented with good written communication skills to ensure data integrity.
  • Proficient in MS Office, preferably Power Point, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Project management and product management experience a plus.
