The Engineering and Innovation (E&I) team at SB Energyย providesย technical insights andย assistsย decision-making across all life cycle phases of renewable projectsย and data center projects, from development, construction,ย and toย operations and maintenance.ย 

We are seeking a Summer Electrical Engineering/Power Systemย Internย to support our team working on dataย centerย and renewable energy (solar + BESS) projects. This role offers experience in large-scale power systems, high-voltage infrastructure,ย renewableย energyย andย data center electrical design, with exposure to real engineering workflows and cross-team coordination.ย 

Responsibilities

    • Support development ofย single-line diagrams (SLDs)ย andย conceptual electrical designsย ย 
    • Assistย in power system design and analysis for data centers and renewable energy projectsย 
    • Help improve coordinationย betweenย High-voltage (HV) engineering teamย andย Data center electrical design teamย ย 
    • Supportย design documentation management, ensuring clarity, consistency, and quality across engineering deliverablesย ย 
    • Assistย the electrical team in improvingย engineering workflows and design processesย ย 
    • Helpย identifyย and implement opportunities to useย AI tools to improve engineering efficiency, documentation, and design qualityย ย 
    • Participate in internal design reviews and technical discussionsย ย 

Qualifications/Requirements

    • Pursuing a degree inย Electrical Engineeringย (junior, senior, or graduate level)ย ย 
    • Familiarity withย data center electrical design concepts, including:ย ย 
    • Power distribution systemsย ย 
    • Redundancy design (N, N+1, 2N architectures)ย ย 
    • Basic understanding of HV/MV systemsย ย 
    • Ability to understand or supportย calculation of redundancy and system reliability in electrical and HV architecturesย ย 
    • Familiarity with engineering tools such as AutoCADย ย 
    • Strong communicationย skills and ability to work across engineering teamsย ย
