Job description

We're Hiring: Point of Care Testing (POCT) Coordinator

Location: [Insert Location] | Clinical Laboratory Services | Full-Time

Are you a detail-oriented lab professional with a passion for quality and education? University Health is looking for a dynamic POCT Coordinator to help shape and oversee the point-of-care testing program across our health system.


What You’ll Do:

As our POCT Coordinator, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring safe, accurate, and compliant point-of-care testing conducted by non-laboratory clinical staff. You’ll:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate POCT procedures

  • Ensure regulatory compliance across all testing sites

  • Support quality programs aligned with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

  • Provide training, oversight, and continuous improvement initiatives


What We’re Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a relevant biological/medical science

    • OR a Bachelor’s in business/healthcare administration with 5+ years of clinical lab testing experience

  • Completion of a CAHEA-approved clinical training program

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on lab testing experience

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Access, and other data tools

  • Experience in training, auditing, or lab quality assurance is a plus


Licensure/Certification:
  • Certification required by ASCP, NCA, or equivalent national agency
