Job description

Reports to: Executive Director of Athletics
Roberts Wesleyan University Department of Athletics is seeking candidates for the head coach of Men's & Women's Swimming and Diving program. This is a full time, benefit eligible, 10-month position. The head coach is responsible for running all aspects of an NCAA Division 2 Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Program.
Roberts Wesleyan is a member of the NCAA Division II, National Christian College Athletic Association and participates in the East Coast Conference. In keeping with our mission, Roberts Wesleyan University provides an education that focuses on scholarship, spiritual formation, and service. The successful candidate will report directly to the Executive Director of Athletics and Voller Athletic Center.
Summary of Responsibilities: The Head Men's & Women's Swimming and Diving Coach at Roberts Wesleyan University is responsible for development, directing, and administering all aspects of the sport's program including coaching, recruitment and management of a successful NCAA Men's & Women's Swimming and Diving team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the representative knowledge, skills, and ability to:
  • Direct all facets of the sports program inclusive of athletic, personal, and spiritual development of student athletes.
  • Attract, recruit, and retain student-athletes as pertaining to the vision, mission, and values of the institution and department
  • Timely plan and work within a balanced budget
  • Schedule and conduct practices and competitions
  • Be involved as a member of athletics department team in meetings and major athletic events
  • Adhere to all applicable NCAA, conference, department and university regulations that relate to recruiting, daily program management, operation of the individual sport and general success of the program
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Salary Range: $45,000/annually
Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, masters preferred
  • Knowledge of the sport through experience, coaching, clinics, etc.
  • Successful experience in teaching and coaching collegiate level Swim & Diving
  • Success in a collegiate program as either an assistant or head coach preferred
  • Good organizational, communication and coordination skill essential
  • Ability to work well under deadlines and high-pressure situations
  • Ability to recruit student-athletes with potential for academic and athletic success
