Job description

Clinical Internship – BHcare

Make a Meaningful Impact. Grow Your Clinical Future.

BHcare is a leading nonprofit behavioral health provider offering a comprehensive, integrated system of care for adults, children, and families experiencing mental health challenges, substance use disorders, domestic violence, and other highrisk behaviors. Our wraparound services and clientcentered approach help individuals heal, grow, and reclaim their lives — and now, we’re looking for passionate interns who want to do the same.

Why Intern at BHcare?

When you join BHcare as a Clinical Intern, you join a team of compassionate, skilled professionals dedicated to making a real difference. Our internship program is designed to provide:

 Professional Growth

Handson experience across clinical and nonclinical settings, giving you the foundation you need to thrive in today’s behavioral health landscape — and the tools to adapt in an everevolving industry.

Supportive Supervision

You’ll receive weekly oneonone supervision with licensed clinicians, attend staff meetings, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and gain exposure to realworld clinical decisionmaking through doctor/APRN rounds.

 Adult-Focused Clinical Experience

This internship placement works exclusively with adults, offering valuable experience supporting individuals with a wide range of behavioral health needs. Students will gain skills in adult assessment, therapeutic interventions, and treatment planning within outpatient clinical settings.

What You’ll Do:

As a Clinical Intern, you’ll gain meaningful hands-on experience, which may include:

  • Conducting clinical assessments
  • Providing individual psychotherapy
  • Facilitating group psychotherapy sessions
  • Completing documentation for all services provided
  • Participating in clinical rounds and staff meetings
  • Collaborating with treatment teams to support client care

We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. We will consider applicants for this position without regard to any category protected by applicable federal, state or local law, including but not limited to: race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, physical or mental disability, genetic information, veteran status or uniformed service member.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Students matriculated in a clinical university degree program (e.g., Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy)
  • Individuals with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for helping others
  • Interns committed to ethical practice, professional growth, and compassionate care
