Job description

LabCorp is seeking a Courier/Specimen Accessioner to join our team in Fayetteville, AR.
Work Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm
Job Responsibilities:
  • Load all necessary supplies needed for the daily pickups
  • Complete daily pick up schedule in a timely manner
  • Deliver all daily picks to your branch at the end of your shift
  • Handle all specimens and lab samples in safe and efficient manner
  • Safely operate company vehicle and obey all traffic laws
  • Utilize handheld electronic device to manage daily picks up
  • Work directly with dispatcher for additional pick-ups as needed
  • Evaluate traffic patterns, alternative routes and weather conditions as needed

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6 months or more of professional courier or route-based delivery experience, ideally within a medical or laboratory company.

Additional Job Standards:
  • Valid Driver's License and good driving record
  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Very punctual with strong time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Customer service experience
  • Ability to problem solve customer issues
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision

This is a hybrid job that performs 2 functions. One as a Courier that picks up test samples and supply request forms and/or delivers supplies, reports on a specified route following established sequence and time schedule.
Second job function as an Accessioner that prepares all specimens received for testing in designated laboratory departments or locations such as staging of specimens, centrifuge, separate serum, and blood smears. Will perform data entry of test requisition information.
